Get ready for matchday in the Supporters Section

So you’ve heard the stories. You’ve seen the smoke. You’ve been captivated from afar. And now you’re wondering, could I be part of that? Absolutely you can. Whether you’re in for a game or a season, whether you’re a longtime Supporter or a new fan testing the waters, the Wonderwall is a space for all. And that includes you.

What to Expect

Expect a raucous atmosphere filled with chanting, flag-waving, and drum-playing, along with the classic smoke celebration when the Loons score a goal. That’s all part of the experience, after all! If you aren’t sure you’re ready for the full frenzy of excitement, you can always select a spot along the sides of the section to enjoy the rowdiness from a slightly more removed location.

Where to Stand

The Wonderwall is general admission and standing-room-only. So show up early if you want a spot near the front and feel free to grab any space that looks good to you. You’ll find that Supporters’ Groups tend to flock together, but they’re welcoming to all Loons’ fans, whether you’re a new face or a familiar one.

What to Wear

Wear your Loons gear, of course, and definitely not any opposing team colors or logos. It doesn't matter if you're Matthew McConaughey; if you show up in the Wonderwall wearing a bright green suit when we're playing Austin FC, you'll kindly be asked to find a better-looking jacket or a different location from which to enjoy the match.

Learn the Lingo

This is a bonus assignment, but if you want to sound like a true Supporter, you can brush up on your lingo. For instance, a “capo” is the person standing at the base on the section, generally holding a megaphone while leading the crowd in their chants. On select games, the Supporters may unfurl a gigantic homemade banner called a “tifo”. The drummers in the middle of the section are known as “Thunderwall.” Whip out a few of those terms to impress your friends.

Bring Your Family

Feel free to bring the whole family! As long as you’re comfortable with your kiddos being around some loud noises, occasional smoke, and a little alcohol consumption, you are more than welcome to join alongside the many other families who regularly enjoy matches from the Wonderwall.

Bring Your Friends

Because it’s general admission, the Wonderwall is especially convenient for going to games with friends. Everyone in your group can buy their own ticket, arrive at the stadium separately, and simply grab a spot together once you all get there.

Learn the Lyrics

If you’re one of those overachiever types, you can study up on the Supporters Chants ahead of time. Otherwise, you can find the lyrics on the ribbon boards in the stadium throughout the game or by usingthe closed caption feature in the MNUFC app. Most of the chants are pretty easy to learn, and they’re repeated often, so you’ll catch on quick.

Prepare to Sing

Last but not least, make sure you’re ready for that glorious moment following a victory when 19,000 voices join as one to sing the great British ballad of our time. In fact, there’s no better way to prep for a Loons game than by listening to Wonderwall one or twelve times. That way, you won’t come in too early (like you always do) and embarrass yourself in front of all your new friends.
